• Early Life: Grew up in several places, including Jabalpur, Hazaribagh, Gomo, Dhanbad, and Asansol.
• Education: Graduated from the University of Calcutta.
• Career: Worked in various jobs, including as an editor and sub-editor at several publications such as Parag (co-editor), Pashchimbanga, Satyayug, and Desh. He was also the editor of Shiladitya magazine between 1982-1984.
